The Crayon Box Song
Verse 1
When I was just a little child no higher than your knee
My mama bought a box of crayons just for me
I colored lots of pictures and I told you what they said
They were the very colors that reminded me of Him when He bled
Chorus
Red is the color of the blood that He shed
Brown's for the crown that they laid upon His head
Blue is for royalty within Him did dwell
And yellow is for the Christian who's afraid to tell
Verse 2
As a child I colored many a page I'm older now it's true
But the colors of that crayon box still tell me what to do
So when I see a child today whose crayons color bright
I sit right down beside that child and tell them what is right
Verse 3
Now that you've heard the story of the colors and the Lord
And what our Savior did for us according to God's Word
He rose up from the grave one day and if you will believe
He's coming back again someday His children to receive
Final Ending
Red is the color of the blood that He shed
Brown's for the crown that they laid upon His head
Blue is for royalty within Him did dwell
So don't you be a Christian who's afraid to tell
